Residing and making in Middletown, Ohio; BFA Printmaking Art Academy of Cincinnati, MFA Miami University Oxford, Ohio
My work explores how the physical relationship between environment and body is cultivated through perception and association. Informed by my own art-making experiences and interest in space as physical object, I think of perception as a historically informed, fluid process - a means to understand.
In varying degrees, I combine paper castings, projected film stills, soundscape compositions, prints, multi-media drawings, and silk installations in order to complicate the viewing space passed the dichotomy of comparison, therefore holding the viewer in a perceptual net. By always perpetuating newness, perhaps the point of understanding is never offered.
